By MICHAEL LETENDRE STAFF WRITER BRISTOL – When Bristol Central and Eastern wrestling teams tangled in its annual city series battle on Wednesday night, Feb. 11, the more experienced team came out the victor in this one. The Lancers rolled off 19 straight points to open the meet and cruised to a 46-18 victory from Bristol Central High School in a CCC South tilt. The victory propelled Eastern to an outstanding 25-4 ledger and a perfect 6-0 tally in CCC South action. For the fourth straight season, the Lancers were once again crowned the CCC South champs. Central (13-7, 2-4) eventually picked up some points as Joe Cherwinski picked up a pin-fall win over Zach Monge at 106 pounds. But before the Rams scored again, it was already a 43-6 cushion in the visitors’ favor. “They’re the fifth-ranked team in the state and they wrestled like it,” Central coach Matt Boissonneault said. “And we’re not the fifth ranked team and you saw the difference in the close matches.” In the showcase of the event, Eastern’s Austen Parks took on Central’s Tyler Burrow in an epic bout.
