By TAYLOR HARTZSTAFF WRITER Hartford HealthCare and the Southington-Cheshire Community YMCA will be supplying a Sunday afternoon full of healthy activities for the whole family this month. The 7th annual Healthy Family FunFest will be held at The Aqua Turf on Feb. 28, providing five hours of free entertainment and information for all ages. The event aims to teach residents how to connect to a healthier lifestyle, including wellness information from medical professionals, health screenings, and advice on mindful eating, aging, and mental health. To benefit the whole family, activities are available that specialize in healthcare for children, women, athletes, and the elderly. Several local organizations will offer demonstrations, including vision screenings from the Lions Club and bone density tests. Entertainment will be provided for all, with prizes, food, giveaways, and a live iHeart radio broadcast featuring radio personalities Renee DiNino and Corey Meyers. The YMCA “kids room” will provide Star Wars themed activities, including a Padawan Obstacle Course, Yoda’s Jedi Gymnastics and a moon bounce.
