To the editor: In the spirit of the holiday, I would like to share my gratitude to more than 17,000 adult members of Girl Scouting who volunteered their time, resources, and giving hearts to touching the lives of 35,000 Girl Scouts across Connecticut. Because of their tireless dedication and commitment, we continued to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world and their communities better places. Girls and women continue to make progress on a local, national, and global level, but there are still so many challenges ahead. Girls want to lead, but often don’t feel they have the opportunity or support. We can change this by agreeing to stand with and provide helpful guidance and mentoring to our girls as they discover and tap into their talents and strengths. Girl Scouts, with the help of our resilient volunteer force, has been providing girls with a safe, encouraging environment to help them thrive and continue to reach for their dreams. We can’t do it without you—it takes volunteers, parents, and friends to help us ensure that all girls realize their full potential. We also can’t forget the support of our Girl Scout alumnae.
