Light bulb swap Saturday, Oct. 3

Bristol All HeartOn Saturday, Oct. 3, the City of Bristol will host a free light bulb swap for residents. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in conjunction with the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day at the Public Works Garage on Vincent P. Kelly Road. Bristol residents, with identification, may bring up to five incandescent light bulbs in any condition and exchange them for new, energy-efficient LED bulbs free of charge. In addition to the light bulb swap, energy experts from Eversource and Energize Connecticut will be on-hand to answer questions and provide information about further actions residents can take to save money by making their homes more energy efficient.  Additional energy saving lighting products will be available for purchase at a discounted rate. “The City of Bristol is excited to have earned its first Bright Idea Grant and to use that grant to give residents a way to cut energy costs at home.
