By LISA CAPOBIANCO STAFF WRITER Super heroes of all kinds will take to the Memorial Boulevard track during the 54th annual Mum Festival for a walk to support homeless in Bristol. On Saturday, Sept. 26, “Super Heroes Walk for Homeless” will kick off at 11 a.m., serving as one of the major highlights at this year’s Mum Festival. Adults can enter the walk for $15, and children ages six-17 can enter for $10. Children age five and under are free. Registration for the walk will start at 10 a.m. All proceeds of the walk will benefit St. Vincent DePaul Mission of Bristol. At least four to five costumed superheroes will be on the track interacting with children and their families. Kathy Young, secretary of St. Joseph Church, who also serves on the Board of Directors at St. Vincent DePaul, is the organizer of the fund raising event. She said the goal of the hour-long walk is to spread awareness about St. Vincent DePaul’s service to the Bristol community, as many folks may not be aware that it exists here in the city.
