Bristol Central High School’s Spring Tapping Ceremony for the National Honor Society will be Friday, March 13, at 7:45 a.m. in the high school’s Senior Cafe. To be eligible for membership consideration, students must have a cumulative G.P.A of 3.7 or higher. In addition, candidates must meet high standards of leadership, service, and character. Leadership is based on the student’s participation in two or more community or school activities, or election to an office. To meet the service requirement, the student must have been active in three or more activities in the school and community. Character is measured in terms of integrity, behavior, ethics and cooperation with both students and faculty. Students are reviewed by the Faculty Council consisting of five teachers appointed by the principal. The members of the Faculty Council are Ellen Urbach, David Brewer, Foo Field, David Greenleaf, John Couture, and Jody Ceglarski. The adviser to the National Honor Society is Mr. Paul J. Pinette. This year nearly 50 students are being considered for membership.
