By MICHAEL LETENDRE STAFF WRITER BRISTOL – The Bristol Eastern girls basketball squad made it a clean sweep in CCC South play this season, concluding league games – and the regular season – with a 63-38 win over Bristol Central from the Thomas M. Monahan Gymnasium on Monday, Feb. 16. Eastern finished the season at 14-0 in CCC South action, becoming back-to-back league champs, while carrying an overall ledger of 18-2. And once again, defense was the key for the home squad. Eastern held Central (11-9) to a 28-percentage shooting clip in the game and made 18 steals to keep the Rams at bay. And when the Lancers nabbed the ball from Central defenders, Eastern turned those miscues into points. “The biggest thing is we got out and played some good defense,” said Eastern coach Tony Floyd. “We got in transition.
