A Southington man was arrested after police received a report about an American flag being set on fire. Police said the department received a call on Dec. 27 at about 11:30 p.m. from a resident of Sunnyridge Drive. Police said the complainant reported that a small American flag that was affixed to his mailbox was lit on fire. Police said the complainant observed the incident on a video surveillance system at his residence. Police said an investigation led officers to Kyle LeBlanc, 20, of Southington. LeBlanc was charged with criminal mischief third degree, breach of peace second Degree, and mutilation of the flag. LeBlanc was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and given an appearance date of Jan. 5 at Bristol Superior Court, police said. The flag was estimated to be 18 inches by 10 inches and its approximate value was $8, said police.
