Plainville hosts once familiar foe, St. Paul

By MICHAEL LETENDRE STAFF WRITER PLAINVILLE – The St. Paul football team traveled to Plainville on Wednesday, Aug. 27 for a little preseason football encounter that included two squads that regularly saw each other in Nutmeg League games gone by. It was a good test for the Blue Devils as a number of new faces got to square off against a Falcons team that just lost two seniors from their 2013 campaign. Who knew what to expect from St. Paul with quarterback Logan Marchi no longer in the fold but an experienced receiving corps is back, a QB that’s been waiting in the wings is getting his chance on the field and a senior running back is looking for a big campaign. And against the Blue Devils, those weapons were more than enough to gain the advantage in the scrimmage from beautiful Alumni Field in Plainville.
