Plainville police arrested a Middletown man recently after they said he threatened his ex girlfriend and caused damage at her apartment. Michael A. Johnson, 27, of 273 Woodbury Circle, Middletown was arrested on March 22 after a warrant was out for his arrest. Plainville police Lt. Eric Peterson said Johnson was at his ex girlfriend’s apartment in Plainville on Friday, March 21, when the two got in an argument and the woman left to go to the police department. Johnson smashed windows and doors, a television and a fish tank, Peterson said. He packed some of his belongings, and went to a neighbor in the apartment complex asking for a ride to Middletown. Peterson said Johnson left his bag at the neighbor’s home and took off on foot, and the neighbor, who has two small children, discovered a loaded gun in Johnson’s bag. Peterson said the police were able to locate Johnson on Saturday, March 22 when he was arrested and charged with first degree burglary, risk of injury to a minor, criminal possession of pistol/revolver, second degree threatening, first degree criminal trespass, second degree criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and sixth degree larceny.
