To the editor: It is with a very heavy heart that I write this letter at this time. I am writing to an unknown individual or a small group of individuals who destroyed some very important property to not only two local families, but also the entire past, present, and future firefighters in the Town of Plainville. Let me begin this letter with some history of the Fire Department in Plainville. On Jan. 122, 1885, that’s right 1885, a group of 30 individuals got together and formed the Plainville Hose Company for the protection from fire for the Town of Plainville. On Jan. 2, 1952, through the help and dedication of Attorney Milton Koskoff, the Plainville Fire Company, by which it is now known, became incorporated in the State of Connecticut. Since that group of 30, an additional 475 men and women who call Plainville their home have joined forces to fight the ravages of fire.
