Town to host tech challenge

By KAITLYN NAPLES STAFF WRITER Ever wonder about the technician who was working on your car? There is a good chance he or she was one of the top technical students who competed in the CAR Association State High School Challenge. In just about two weeks, eight of the state’s top technical school students will be competing at Crowley Ford Lincoln in Plainville before two of them go on to compete in the national competition in New York City. This is the second year the state high school challenge will be held at Crowley in Plainville, which hosts the students and provides vehicles that have been “bugged” for them to work on. Larry Eiden, technical competition manager, said students from all of the technical schools around the state take the Automotive Service Excellence standardized test first. Then, the top two students from each technical school are chosen to participate in the state’s high school challenge.
