The Bristol Central High School World Language Department will host a multi-cultural week Feb. 19 to 21. During this week all the various cultures that make up the Bristol Central High School community will be celebrated with cultural announcements, music, decorations, and a special lunch menu. On Thursday, Feb. 20, students will be encouraged to represent their ethnicity by either wearing a sports jersey of their country of origin or colors of their flag. From 6 to 8 p.m., the school will host the first annual “Tastes of the World” – an evening of culinary and cultural delights designed to highlight the many flavors that make up the city’s cultural community. Several community sponsors will be making donations, including Barley Vine of Bristol and the Aqua Turf of Southington. “Tastes of the World” will include a pot-luck style dinner. Students and families will be encouraged to bring in their favorite cultural dish whether it may be an appetizer, entrée, or dessert.
