But when the driving force behind the Berlin, Conn.-based Karo Swimwear came to the United States, she initially left her fashion design ambitions behind. However, she recently returned to her creative roots. And she now has seen her swim fashions rock the runway not only in the Nutmeg state but in New York City this past September, as well. “As a child,” said Roginska, “I was interested in sewing simple doll outfits.” From that humble beginning, she moved on eventually to graduate from fashion design school. “After graduation, I moved to the U.S.,” Roginska said, “and I disconnected from fashion design.” Roginska said creativity was not entirely left by the wayside. “Sporadically, I would make window treatments,” said Roginska. But being on the other side of the fashion equation began to rekindle Roginska’s fire. “Almost two years ago, I modeled for a few local designers and that inner passion for fashion came back and was brewing inside my mind till it exploded toward Karo swimwear in January (2013),” said Roginska.
