Southington police arrested Cheryl Ann St. Amant, 36, of Southington after an investigation of a domestic dispute on Saturday, Jan. 23 at approximately 3:23 p.m. The initial report indicated that St. Amant and a 64 year old female victim got into an argument while the victim was on the phone. As St. Amant tried to take the phone from the victim, it was reported that she grabbed the victim’s arm, shook it, and caused a bruise. The victim ran away from St. Amant and attempted to dial 911 while they wrestled with the phone. During this time, police arrived on scene. The victim did not require medical attention. St. Amant was taken into custody without incident and charged with third degree assault of an elderly person, disorderly conduct, interfering with an emergency call, and third degree criminal mischief. She released on a $5,000 bond with an appearance date of Jan. 25, 2016.
