State Representative Betty Boukus (D- Plainville, New Britain) announced in a press release state funding for Paderewski Park and Norton Park in Plainville is scheduled to be approved by the state Bond Commission. The Bond Commission has set aside a grant of $592,500 to be approved next Friday. “Plainville’s parks are an important community asset,” Boukus said in a press release. “I am so pleased we were able to secure state funding for these projects.” The improvements include playground upgrades, ADA improvements, new fencing, a shaded area near the Paderewski splashpad, a much needed bathroom facility, and the refurbishment of a basketball court. “The grant will make needed improvements to both Norton Park and Paderewski Park that are heavily utilized by town residents and surrounding communities,” Town Manager Robert Lee said in the press release. “We are grateful to Representative Boukus for securing these much needed funds that will enhance the quality of life for our residents.
