YMCA Camp Sloper will open priority registration for last year’s campers and full members of the Southington-Cheshire Community YMCA. Online registration for the annual day camp will begin on Saturday, Jan. 30, at 8 a.m. at www.ymcacampsloper.org. In-person registration will not be accepted during the early bird period. YMCA officials encourage families to register early for specialty camps or the Sloperian program for children entering kindergarten or first grade. Full membership and/or attendance at last year’s camp will be verified before priority registrations are confirmed. Full registration will begin on Sunday, Jan. 31. Membership is not required to attend YMCA Camp Sloper. Every child who is registered is considered a program member. Campers with full memberships will receive an additional $50 discount per session. “This will be our 67th year of camping at YMCA Camp Sloper and we are very excited about the 2016 day camp season,” said first-year camp director Shane Altwies in a YMCA press release. “Our camp families have already started to call and email us with questions about camp registration.
