, 94, of Bristol, widow of the late Andrew L. Finnemore, died at The Pines of Bristol on Friday (January 1, 2016). Hazel was born on March 24, 1921 in Springfield, MA to the late Floyd and Lena (Schubert) Newell. Her family moved to Bristol when Hazel was young where she graduated from Bristol High School. After WW II She and Andy moved to New Hampshire to own a small business where they started their family, later returning to Bristol. She enjoyed her family, traveling and the outdoors. In retirement she was a volunteer at Bristol Hospital. She was a longtime member of Asbury United Methodist Church. Hazel is survived by her two daughters and two sons-in-law: Linda and John Paul Kessie, of Bastrop, TX, Susan and Robert McMahon, of Guilford; sister: Shirley Slack, Virginia City, NV; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and her longtime friend Ted Przygocki. Funeral services for Hazel will be celebrated at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, Connecticut 06010 at 11AM on Tuesday (January 5, 2016).
