Plainville alum Carroll exhibits ability to continually excel

By MICHAEL LETENDRE STAFF WRITER WATERBURY – Former Plainville high school girls soccer standout Lexxi Carroll seems to excel no matter where she plays on the field. Or for what team. In 2012, Carroll was a phenomenal freshman for Southern New Hampshire University and aided the squad with three game-winning goals. But the university in Manchester, N.H. didn’t really suit her and Carroll made a change that kept her closer to home. She transferred over to Post University and now in her sophomore campaign, Carroll picked up right where she left off for the Penmen. For the Eagles, Carroll was second on the squad in total points with 15 as she pounded in six goals on the season to go along with three assists. Overall, Post went 7-9 but Carroll helped her squad stay in a number of games that could have ended up being blowouts by the time things were said and done. She started all 16 games this season and was third overall on the team in minutes with 1,316. Carroll took 18 shots on goal in 2013 and scored one game winning goal on the campaign.
