And the games between Bristol Central and Bristol Eastern have been watched and enjoyed by generations of fans and for the 57th consecutive campaign, the Rams and Lancers will once again engage in gridiron competition. Here’s a look at the history of the games, preparing us for the showdown that will commence at 10:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning. Battle of the Bell Records – A Quick History: 1959 — Bristol Central, 14-0 – Rams’ co-captain Jim Nocera scored both touchdowns to lead Central to victory in the first ever “Battle for the Bell” showdown. 1960 — Bristol Central, 20-0 – Central out-gained Eastern on the ground, 182 to 55, as the Rams shutout the Lancers. 1961 — Bristol Central, 20-0 – The Rams zipped up 251 rushing yards as the Central, once again, blanked Eastern by the same score from the previous season.
