Lake Compounce announced its fourth annual “Holiday Lights”, New England’s favorite seasonal holiday themed family event taking place on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings beginning on Nov. 27. Brand new for this season, a 100-foot tall decorated tree will reign over the main gates of the park with hundreds of thousands of lights and decorations. The giant tree takes a team of eight maintenance workers roughly a week to construct. A ceremonial lighting of the tree will be held nightly at 5 p.m. on Fridays and 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Each evening a different special guest will be chosen to light the mammoth Christmas Tree starting with Santa himself on opening night. “Holiday Lights” will provide full family entertainment for all ages, and include festive activities such as a spectacular light show every half hour at the main gate, which will feature tens of thousands of dancing lights set to holiday music. Kiddieland rides and family themed rides will be in operation. The Train will be transformed into the North Pole Railway, operated by a very special, uniformed train conductor with a magical holiday story to tell.
