Thanksgiving, toy drive being held by United Way

UWWCC logo - the bestThe United Way of West Central Connecticut is asking for help this holiday season to show the community what it takes to Live United. A pres release from the organization said, “We are hoping that you will help us make positive changes in the lives of local individuals and families by donating non-perishable food items and gifts. These contributions will help provide numerous local families with a holiday meal and gifts for children to open at Christmas.  These small changes can help to put a family back on the path of financial stability and independence.” United Way’s Annual Joy of Sharing Program has been providing food, toys, and gifts to needy children, teens, and families in Bristol, Burlington, Plainville, and Plymouth/Terryville for over 15 years. Last year, said the United Way news release, over 2,200 toys and gifts were donated, along with hundreds of food items. “This year, the need is greater than ever and we need your help,” said the release.
