Tunxis Community College’s Business Administration program will offer new seven-week online courses starting in January as part of its offerings for those students who want the added flexibility of taking courses off-campus in a quicker time frame. The initial seven-week online courses, “Financial Accounting” and “Principles of Marketing,” which start Jan. 25 and March 28, are taught by Tunxis faculty and will join an array of other business courses that can be completed online and in the evenings. Tunxis plans to expand its offering of seven-week business courses in the near future. “These new accelerated course options can reduce the time to complete an associate degree,” said Amy Feest, Tunxis Business Administration program coordinator in a press release. “We hope that our adult learners— who are often juggling family, career and their studies— will benefit from the shorter semesters and flexibility online classes offer.” The business program represents the largest field of study at Tunxis, helping to prepare students for growing employment opportunities with courses in accounting, management, business law, ethics, finance, entrepreneurship and marketing.
