By MICHAEL LETENDRE STAFF WRITER BRISTOL – Mistakes, against any scholastic volleyball opponent, are costly and in Central Connecticut Conference, Southern Division play, there’s no margin for error. And, unfortunately for the squad from Bristol Central on Wednesday, Oct. 21, miscues proved too costly to overcome against upstart Plainville as the Rams fell three games to two from the Charles C. Marsh Gymnasium. Game scores were 25-23, 18-25, 20-25, 25-19 and 15-13 as Central dropped to 9-8 on the campaign. The problem was, even as the Rams didn’t show its best stuff, the team was on the verge of winning the event during set four. Leading 2-1, this one could have been put away midway through the fourth tilt as Central led 15-11 and were just 10 points away from scoring the win. But Plainville (8-7) outscored Central 14-4 to take the fourth game and in that fateful fifth set, the visitors surged in front 4-0 and never looked back – securing a two-point win to take the event.
