The girl’s volleyball team (1-0) jumped out to a strong start to the 2015 season with a 3-0 shutout over Windsor (0-1) on the road on Friday afternoon, September 11. The Lady Knights only dropped 26 points in the match (25-9, 25-6, 25-11). Sylwia Lewkowicz just missed a perfect offensive percentage, leading the team in attacks as she stormed the net with 10 kills on 11 attempts. Kelsea Allen had seven kills on nine attempts and was a force behind the line, serving up eight aces on 22 attempts. Samantha Lohneiss contributed with five aces on 11 attempts, as well as 11 assists on 18 attempts. Stephanie Zera dished out 15 assists on 18 attempts. On the defensive side of the ball, Morgan Raymond recorded nine digs with six serves received. Nicole Groll was right behind with eight blocks and four serves received. Lewkowicz and Allen both had two assisted blocks. The Knights will look to continue the strong start with the home opener against Weaver (1-0) and on the road at Simsbury (0-1) on Friday.
