Caitlyn Krar scored the Lady Knights’ lone goal on her only shot attempt of the game in their 1-0 road win over Windsor on Friday night. Krar’s goal came on a breakaway through the middle of the field and hit the right side of the net with 8:03 to go in the first half and would ultimately decide the game. Krar’s goal would prove to be the Lady Knights’ (1-0) only goal of the game and would ultimately be the deciding factor in the Lady Knight’s 1-0 win over Windsor (0-1) on the road on Friday night, Sept. 11. Janelle Mangassarian saved seven shots Windsor took on goal for the Knights. Windsor’s Tyra Anderson saved 11 of the 18 shots the Knights took on goal. The Knights had two corner kicks and Windsor did not have any. Abby Connolly took the most shots on goal for the Knights with six, followed by Natalie Verderame with five, Ariana Gazaferi and Taylor Hubert with two, and Kristina Linehan, Chelsea Cocozza, and Krar with one. The Knights will look to keep their successful start going with games against Farmington (1-0) and Conard (0-1) in week two.
