The Parent & Child Center at Bristol Hospital will host a two-part series called, “Transforming the Difficult Child: The Nurturing Heart Approach.” The series will take place Tuesday, June 21 and July 28 from 6-8 p.m. at the Parent & Child Center, 9 Prospect St., Bristol. According to a press release form the Parent & Child Center, the workshop will help participants gain insight into the mind of a difficult child. The approach was inspired by the treatment of children who have been labeled as challenging, difficult or intense, especially children diagnosed on the spectrum of ADHD, Autism, attachment disorder, developmental disabilities and more. The fees for the series were reduced due to grants from the Petit Family Foundation and the Bristol Brass General Grant Fund as well as the Douglas and Noreen Schumann Special Interest Fund at the Main Street Community Foundation in partnership with the Stocker Foundation, the release said. A sliding scale fee and scholarships are available to low-income families, The current fee is $12/parent or $13/childcare provider. Pre-registration required.
