At the 130th Great Council Session of the Improved Order of Red Men held at Crowne Plaza Hotel in Southbury, Great Chief of Records P.G.S. David A. Perlot received the Redman of the Year Award from the convention committee. Perlot has logged countless hours and many changes of position from the national office. He is a member of Wonx Tribe No. 28 in Southington. He is married to Eileen and has three children, Dave, Patrick, and Danny. The convention also elected sitting Chiefs for the coming year with five chiefs chosen from Wonx Tribe No. 28 in Southington, including Great Sachem P.S. Larry Mucci Jr., Great Prophet P.G.S. Dennis Putala, Great Chief of Records P.G.S. David A. Perlot, Great Keeper of Wampum P.G.S. David L. Perlot, and P.G.S. Joe Duplessie. Other chiefs elected were Great Jr. Sagamore P.S. Ron Raffone of Hammonassett Tribe No. 1 in New Haven, Great Sr. Sagamore P.G.S. Gary Garewski of Pequabuck Tribe No. 74 in Plainville, Great Trustees P.G.S.Joe Riccardi of Mayn Mayano Tribe No. 46 in Greenwich, and P.S. Frank Haines of Nonnawauk Tribe No. 9.
