By BRIAN JENNINGS STAFF WRITER The Lady Knights lacrosse team (2-7) had a tough go this past week, losing both games they played in after spending a week of the field from game play. The Knights returned to their home turf on Friday, May 8 where they lost to the Berlin Redcoats, 12-7, but didn’t go down quietly. The Knights went scoreless in the first half of play, 7-0, but came out firing in the second half, putting up four unanswered goals after the first five minutes. However, that run would cool off and the Redcoats would go on to take the game. Six different Knights scored in the game. Alexa Luponio paced the offense with two goals on four shot attempts. Raymond, Helen Dinnan, Stephanie Zera, Jess Lee, and Faith Ritchie (had team’s only assist) each scored a goal. Olivia Jacques led the Redcoats with five goals. The Knights finished with 25 shots on goal to the Redcoats’ 29.
