Offense drives PHS over Hall, 10-5

By MICHAEL LETENDRE STAFF WRITER PLAINVILLE – If you’re going to get a jump on the Plainville baseball team, you better do it early and often. But if you don’t, the Blue Devils have proven to be a very offensive team and are a proven commodity in terms of run production. And when Hall of West Hartford – seeing their first four runners reach base in the top of the first inning in a CCC Interdivisional contest on Monday, May 6 – only notched one solitary run over that opening frame, it was a bad omen for the visitors. Because Plainville pounded the Warriors for four runs in the first inning and five additional in the second frame as the Blue Devils zipped up a 10-5 win from Plainville High School. It was a milestone victory for Plainville as the victory pushed the squad to an 8-4 overall ledger and with that win, immediate state tournament qualification for the 39th straight season was acquired.
