BC boys have a great day in Middletown

sports illustrationBy MICHAEL LETENDRE STAFF WRITER MIDDLETOWN – The Bristol Central boys track team had one heck of a day at the Middletown Invitational on Saturday, May 2. And Bristol Eastern, sending a smaller group to the event, had some big finishers as well. From the relay events, to the hurdles, to the field events, the Rams were successful on multiple fronts. And, in what has seemed to be a familiar pattern at Bristol Central meets, a couple of new records were established by the Rams. One new standard was established for all to see in the 4×400 meter relay as the crew of D’Andre Conaway, Tamir Hornesby, Andrew Damon-Smith, and Drew Lee won the event behind the stellar time of 3:24.77 – a new school record. That was just the tip of the iceberg as several athletes performed well on the very big stage that the Middletown Invitational provided. “We had a great meet today,” said Bristol Central coach Tamara Stafford-Kirk. “Our relays were on fire and we ended the night with a new school record and victory in the 4×400 meter relay.  The relay team of Conaway, Hornesby, A.
