A New Britain woman was arrested in Southington this week after racking up over eight-thousand-dollars in credit card charges in her boyfriend’s ex wife’s name. Melissa Cocola, 39, opened three different credit cards and credit lines in the victim’s name, said police, purchasing approximately $8405.23 worth of merchandise since last March. Cocola was charged with second degree identity theft, third degree larceny, illegal use of a credit card, receiving goods obtained by illegal use of a credit card, and making a false statement to procure the issuance of a credit card. She is scheduled to appear in Bristol Court on May 4.
