City plans light bulb swap at Duck Race May 3

  On Sunday, May 3, the City of Bristol will host a free light bulb swap for residents. The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. during the Pequabuck River Duck Race, Central Street, Downtown Forestville. Bristol residents, with identification, may bring up to three incandescent light bulbs in any condition and exchange them for new, energy efficient LED bulbs free of charge. In addition to the light bulb swap, representatives from Eversource and Energize Connecticut will be on-hand to answer questions and provide information about further actions residents can take to save money by making their homes more energy efficient. Additional LED energy saving products such as holiday lights, night lights and specialty bulbs will be available for purchase at a discounted rate. “The City of Bristol is excited to have earned its first Bright Idea Grant and to use that grant to give residents a way to cut energy costs at home.
