Chamber of Commerce honors locals

chamber3By LISA CAPOBIANCO STAFF WRITER For over 20 years, Maggie Carlin and Tina Gryguc have made an impact in the town of Plainville, both ready to lend a hand. Known as a skilled administrative assistant for Assistant Superintendent of Schools Dr. Maureen Brummett, Gryguc goes out of her way to make sure things go according to plan. Although currently serving as president of the Plainville Community Food Pantry’s Board of Directors, Carlin has maintained her role as volunteer first, showing her dedication to the continued improvement of Plainville. But their connection goes beyond the impact Carlin and Gryguc have made on those around them. Not only have Carlin and Gryguc known each other for many years, but they also were honored during the Plainville Chamber of Commerce 107th Awards Dinner & Annual Meeting last week. During the event, Gryguc received the “Employee of the Year” award and Carlin received the “Distinguished Volunteer” award.
