The Town of Plainville has an on-demand policy for bulk pickup. Residents who currently have curbside rubbish and recycling collection from the town can request one bulk pickup per calendar year free of charge for large items that do not fit in normal rubbish collection. For a list of acceptable bulk items and restrictions, refer to the Public Works Department on the Town of Plainville website, www.plainvillect.com. Spring bulk collection will take place on Mondays during the following period: April 13 through June 29 (excluding Monday, May 25). Eligible residents must call CWPM at (860)793-6721 to schedule a pickup. When calling, you will need to provide your name, address, phone number and a description of the items to be collected. Calls placed by 3 p.m. Friday can be scheduled for collection on Monday. Please Note: pickups for multi-family residents (2 to 5 units) must be scheduled by property owners/ landlords. Bulk items should not be placed curbside more than 24 hours before your scheduled pickup. Bulk items must not block or create a safety concern for sidewalks, walkways or the roadway.
