Hamden painter Dale Spaner will be featured through the end of March at The Gallery at The Orchards. The show, entitled “Potpourri” showcases a collection of Spaner’s paintings. Spaner was born in New Haven and raised in West Haven. After raising three children in Waterbury, she studied watercolors at a local college with Julie Hickcox and Melody Asbury. She continues to work with her technique at Artsplace and with Linda Marino. She does still life and life drawing in watercolors, acrylics and pastels. Spaner has won many awards. A watercolor titled “Beneath The Wailing Wall” was accepted and exhibited at the New Britain Museum of American Art. She is a member of The Watercolor Society, The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown, and the Southington Arts and Crafts Association. She currently serves as president of The Cheshire Art League. The Gallery at The Orchards is run by the Southington Arts and Crafts Association and is located in the second floor community room at The Orchards.
