Members of the Plainville Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred on New Britain Avenue in Plainville, on the evening of Saturday, March 8 at approximately 08:57 p.m. Police said the collision involved two vehicles traveling in opposite directions on New Britain Ave. prior to colliding head on just west of the New Britain/Plainville town line. Roxanne Marie Dias, 30, of Plantsville, was alone operating a Mazda sedan, said Plainville police. Marlena Wcislo, 25, was operating a Nissan SUV occupied by one passenger, Peter Wcislo, 26, both of New Britain, the police said. The Plainville Fire Company responded and subsequently extricated Dias from the Mazda, said police. She was then transported by LifeStar to Hartford Hospital where she was later pronounced dead. Marlena and Peter Wcislo were both transported to The Hospital of Central Connecticut, New Britain General Campus, by AMR for injuries believed to be non-life threatening, said police. Additional details regarding this collision are pending due to the ongoing investigation, police said.
