Bread for Life visits St. Dominic School

Photo courtesy of Bread for Life.  Children filled the St. Dominic School lunch to meet Eldon Hafford, Southington Bread for Life executive director. Hafford visited the school to thank the students for all they do for the Southington non-profit organization. Throughout the year, students, staff, and parents at St. Dominic School continue to provide food drives, holiday treat bag donations, and spare change donations from their dress down program. During a Santa’s Breakfast held at the school, children decorated dozens of placemats that were used at Bread for Life’s soup kitchen, located in the Masonic Hall. The cheerful placemats will be saved and used on future holidays, Hafford said in a press release from Bread for Life. Bread for Life addresses needs by serving weekday noon meals, delivering hot and cold meals to the homebound and senior housing, and offering summer food programs for children. Last year, Bread for Life served 35,000 meals to Southington residents including the homeless. St. Dominic School, located at 1050 Flanders Road in Southington, also extends its generosity to other Southington programs, including “adopting” 16 residents at Christmas and donating clothing, toiletries and toys, Principal Patricia Tiezzi said in the release. “It’s amazing how generous our kids, parents and staff […]
