The Bristol Rotary Club Great Pizza Challenge is on and pizza shops from all over the Mum City are ready to rumble. “Because of the overwhelming success of last year’s inaugural event, most of the spots available for pizzerias are already taken, but there are a couple left,” Rotarian Jackie Majerus-Collins, an organizer of the March 15 afternoon event at the Giamatti Little League center, said in a press release. Public participation is crucial, as those who attend will be asked to weigh in on meaty questions that will select the best crust, sauce and toppings. Each person who attends gets to sample pizza from many different shops and then casts a ballot, voting for the best in a slew of categories, said the press release from Rotary. “It is fun for the whole family,” said Bristol Rotary Club President Olcott Snow, adding that many Rotarians brought family members to help at last year’s event. The event runs from 2 to 4 p.m. Pizza tasting is $5 per person or $10 per family, with drinks sold separately.
