By BRIAN JENNINGS STAFF WRITER PLAINVILLE – Giant posters plastered the blue padding against the wall. Parents walked their seniors out for what would be their last home game in the Ivan L. Wood Gymnasium at Plainville High School. The Plainville Blue Devils (4-13) boys basketball team hosted the Platt Panthers (3-13) on Friday, Feb. 13 and were paying a tribute to seniors Austin Butler and Nick Lestini. Both were honored and met with heartfelt words expressed through a microphone from their first-year coach before the game, as well as words of fondness in the locker room after it. But the kind words weren’t enough for the Blue Devils as they faltered against visitors, falling 68-52. “They’ve been a pleasure to coach, said Plainville coach Jim DiNello. “I’m very proud of them because it’s not easy to learn a whole new system and get used to a new coach in your senior year. You have to be open-minded and ready to learn. I’ve thrown a lot at them in a fairly short amount of time.
