By MICHAEL LETENDRE STAFF WRITER PLAINVILLE – In terms of boys basketball play, there’s never a night off in the CCC South. And that’s no mystery to Plainville head coach Jim DiNello. There’s certainly a ton of parity in league play this season and each and every CCC South war is bigger dogfight than the last. And for the Blue Devils, that first CCC South victory has proven to be a bit elusive. The team is still gelling and learning the concepts that DiNello wants to employ. But when a squad from the South comes to he Ivan Wood Gymnasium, he understands that no lead is safe. Take Plainville’s past Tuesday’s game against pesky Platt for example – learning under a new head coach of their own, former New Hampshire College standout Shawon Moncrief. The Blue Devils nabbed an impressive 23-9 cushion after one period while enjoying a 41-30 advantage at the half. But the Panthers outscored Plainville 21-7 over the third period of play – taking the lead in the game – and battled the Blue Devils even from there.
