By LISA CAPOBIANCO STAFF WRITER From blood pressure screenings to yoga and message demonstrations to health insurance information, the West End Association’s health and wellness expo will help the community get a healthy start to the new year in a variety of ways. Sponsored by the Bristol Boys and Girls Club, the health and wellness expo will take place this Saturday starting at 10 a.m., and will bring together physicians, dentists, pharmacists, nurses, massage therapists, nutritionists, and representatives from different healthcare organizations, including Bristol Hospital, ConnectiCare, Oak Hill, Chapter 126, and Access HealthCT. The free event serves as the association’s first annual health and wellness expo, which will take place at the new Bristol Boys & Girls Club on West Street. Dave Hamelin, president of the West End Association, said he feels excited about bringing the expo to the new Bristol Boys and Girls Club, which will provide the event a large amount of space for all of its vendors. Calling the new center a great location, Hamelin said the expo will help promote the new facility in the West End while educating the public.
