State Senator Joe Markley (R- Southington) participated in a Google Hangout on Thursday, Dec. 11 to discuss issues concerning long term care for seniors. The Senator, well-known for his video reports, said in a press release from the Connecticut State Republicans that he was impressed with the potential of the Hangout sessions. “This was my first time using Google Hangouts to discuss policy issues, and I enjoyed it. It adds interactive possibilities to video communication,” Markley said in the release. “I hope to get some legislative friends together soon to do a similar event of our own.” Joining Senator Markley for this Hangout were Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman, AARP Vice President Elaine Ryan, and CT Mirror editor Mark Pazniokas. The group touched on numerous issues, including ways other states help their aging population, financial advantages of homecare programs, and improving current programs throughout Connecticut.
