The Southington Rotary Club and the Southington branch of Liberty Bank have been hard at work since Columbus Day to raise funds for local food charities during the 2014 Liberty Bank/Rotary Club Thanksgiving Dinner Drive. Rotary Clubs in 35 towns teamed up with the 49 Liberty Bank offices partnered with the foundation to donate over $200,000 to regional charities in 2014, and all proceeds are donated back to local communities. The Southington Rotary Club donated $3,500 toward the charity drive. For its part, the Southington Liberty Bank branch contributed through sales of paper “turkey legs” to its customers. Between the two organizations, the drive collected $5,413.75 for Southington charities. The Liberty Bank Foundation matched an additional 25 cents for each dollar raised to bring Southington’s 2014 grand total to $6,766.96.
