To fans in the Southing-ton gym, it looked like Glastonbury was just one game from sweeping the season series. Those fans would have been wrong. Southington was just getting started. “This team never doubts itself,” said the coach. “We’ve been down, 11-0. We’ve been down, 2-0, in a match, and we’ve come back to win. We knew that this match would be very close.” Trailing 2-0 in the best-of-five series, the Knights began to battle back. they won by three in the second game. They won by eight to force a fifth game. Zajda marshaled the offense with 53 assists to nine different players at the net. He set up outside hitters and countered with quick sets to the middles.
