The Bristol Exchange Club will host its annual Day of Service diaper drive on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside of the Stop & Shop at 597 Farmington Ave. Club members and friends will be collecting donations of diapers and other baby-care items for the Caring Closet program of the Parent and Child Center. The Caring Closet, located within the center at 9 Prospect St., is a resource for area families in need of basic items such as diapers, baby wipes, baby wash supplies, and other infant care items. The supplies are donated by local individuals and businesses and collected at drives such as this one. Items the program is most in need of at this time include baby wipes; diapers in sizes 3, 4, 5 and 6; baby wash and baby shampoo; and baby food and snacks. The diaper drive is being held in conjunction with events nationwide as part of the National Exchange Club’s annual Day of Service, held each fall.
