Youth’s Zombie Zone fights Crohn’s disease; now open

Andre pelletierThe Pelletier Family of Bristol has had its fair share of scares, namely those related to their youngest son, Andre’, being diagnosed with Crohn’s disease at the age of 11. Crohn’s disease, along with ulcerative colitis, are painful, debilitating, chronic digestive diseases impacting over 1.4 million American adults and children, with as many as 150,000 under the age of 18 including more than 16,500 individuals in Connecticut, reported a press relese from the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America. Three years later, the release said, Andre’ is offering scares of a different variety. He and his friends and family are hosting the Zombie Zone, a local haunted house attraction, to raise funds for the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America and The Youth Rally. Andre’ chose these two charities because he has benefitted from each organization’s summer camp programs, said the press release. The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation offers Camp Oasis which enriches the lives of children (grades 3 to 12) with inflammatory bowel disease by providing them with a safe and supportive summer camp experience.
