The Middle School of Plainville will host an Anti-Bullying Training Program for parents and guardians presented by the Anti-Defamation League on Sept. 30 from 6 to 8 p.m., with light refreshments served at 5:30 p.m. A press release from the Plainville Public Schools said the program is part of the middle school’s continuing efforts to maintain a positive climate and address the topic of bullying. Middle School sixth graders also will attend a daytime school assembly presented by the Anti-Defamation League, entitled “Step Up.” The Step Up assembly will help sixth grade students establish common language and a common understanding about bullying behaviors. Seventh and eighth grade students in the MSP Ally Student Group will co-facilitate a post-assembly classroom activity with sixth grade teachers. The two hour evening parent / guardian workshop is designed to help parents and guardians understand the issue of bullying and equip them with the tools needed to help their children respond effectively to bullying behaviors.
