A public hearing has been set for the sale of 49 Beecher Street—the former home of the school system’s administrative offices. During a recent meeting, the Town Council unanimously voted to schedule a public hearing for Monday, June 23, at 7 p.m. The hearing will take place during the Town Council meeting at the municipal center. Last month, the Town Council voted unanimously in approval of a contract for the sale of 49 Beecher Street to Mat Florian of Florian Properties, who will submit the property to be listed with the Connecticut State Register of Historic Places. Florian Properties has decided to buy the property “as is” for $200,000, and will use the building for residential or traditional purposes.
